Case Story

From Packaging Component to Critical Lab Tool

At first glance, the order pattern seemed unusual. One of our customers consistently ordered very few boxes from Ultraplast—but a remarkably high volume of dividers. Naturally, this raised our curiosity.

What we discovered turned out to be a compelling example of innovation in practice.

Turning Dividers into Lab Equipment

The customer operates in a laboratory environment where they test how different components absorb liquids. Each test requires precise measurement and consistent conditions.

To conduct these tests, the components are mounted onto Ultraplast dividers. The dividers are then placed inside a box containing a controlled amount of liquid and left there for a specified period of time. After the exposure, the components are weighed to determine exactly how much liquid they have absorbed.

From Glass Plates to Ultraplast

Previously, the customer relied on glass plates for this testing method. However, as their testing procedures evolved, they identified a better alternative: Ultraplast dividers and boxes.

The switch offered several advantages:

  • Easier handling and setup
  • Greater flexibility in mounting different components
  • Improved workflow efficiency

“We didn’t expect to replace our glass plates, but once we tried this setup, there was no going back.” Customer quote

Once validated, the method quickly became a standard.

Supporting Innovation and Quality

Today, this solution plays a critical role in the customer’s operations. It is used not only in the development of new components but also in quality control processes.

In fact, the testing method has been implemented for product quality release across multiple countries, demonstrating both its reliability and scalability.
